Romancing younger men on screen seems to be in vogue in Bollywood. The latest to join the bandwagon is Bipasha Basu who pairs up with Ranbir Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh in two of her forthcoming films. While Ranbir is Bipasha's co-star in Siddharth Anand's Bachna Ae Haseenon, the actress teams up with Neil in new director Jehangir Surti's Freeze. Bipasha plays a slightly older co-star to both the coveted debutants of 2007 in the films. In Freeze, Bipasha is cast as a deejay to Neil's role of a high-flying photographer. The 29-year-old is at the moment reluctant to talk about her role. "We're in discussion. I like the script. It's too soon to talk about it," Bipasha told IANS. As most people know, I'm on a bit of a M/M tangent lately. Seems the only thing I can read is gay fiction these days. Anyway, I just finished a book the other day (no, I'm not going to point fingers and say which one) and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed by the overflow of gushy emotion. I'm all for men crying and showing emotion when the situation calls for it, but please, PLEASE, don't have your characters bawl like angst-ridden teenage girls every five minutes. Sure, there are men who do it in real life (I assume) but I don't want to read about it in romance.

I mean, sure it could be time consuming to needlepoint a closet full of hangers, but take a look at that hanger at the top. What do you think hangs on that hanger? Is it Aunt Betty's bingo skirt? Is it the whore dress that makes Grandma sweat over her rosary every time Janet wears it to Whiskey River? Is it Mom's mom jeans? No, clearly it's Adam's Coat. This clarity of closet inspired me to work on some hangers for my own stuff. Here's what I have so far: I think the Bitchery and the Bared would get along quite well.

Ever read a gay romance where one or both of the men had children? No? That's cause there aren't that many out there. Sean Michaels wrote one (First Steps) and Bobby Michaels has one (Jock Dorm 2), but other than those two, I can't think of any. If anyone knows of any others, let me know. I'd love to read them.You have to wonder why there aren't more stories available involving single fathers. Pretty much any kink under the sun can be found in gay romance, but if you want to find something contemporary and sweet, say single father meets Mr. Right, then you have to look elsewhere. That doesn't make much sense to me. What do you all think? Does domestication kill the illusion of the single gay man, or is there a call for more of these type of stories?

It's been a great week for blog watchers :The RT conference finished up, and when everyone got home they found out about Laura Baumbach and other authors/publishers involved in m/m publishing being treated unfairly. I've read a couple of her books, and they have been nice reads, but I'm going to be a touch cynical--and I'm NOT siding with the Hyatt or RT here, Ms Baumbach should have had as many rights as every other conference goer--but Ms Baumbach couldn't pay for advertising this good. I'm sure, like Carol Lynne of this weeks Ben's Wildflower fame, her books have been flying off the electronic shelf.I feel a bit bad for Carol Lynne. I bought a book this week from a small publisher that generally does romance only. Since that's what I like, I don't pay particular attention to any of their subgenres.
