Exciting News 2007-08-22 03:11:00 I've just agreed to write 5 new manuscripts for Loose ID for 2008. The contracts for three of those were sent out in the mail yesterday and I'm just tickled pink. One of the three is the much requested sequel for Man Candy, which I'm outling now. The other two are gay vampire novels, which are still top secret. ;P2008 is already shaping up into a damn fine year and it's not even here yet. :)

New Free Erotic Story - Sex God 2007-08-15 10:49:00 Sex God started out as a round robin story on the Slash & Burn blog. Blurb: Jaxon smooth talked his lover into taking a Mediterranean cruise vacation. Brad wasn’t the best of travelers, but with any luck the trip would help rekindle the dwindling spark in their sex life. Nothing else had worked. Luke had two good reasons for tagging along on his friend’s vacation. He was envious of the love the two hunky men shared, and he harbored a secret fantasy of drawing them into a ménage. Never in their wildest dreams could the trio have anticipated their shore excursion turning into a highly erotic dream. A dare, a wish and a taunt lead to an amazing encounter none of them will ever forget. Click to download PDFClick to download DOC Read more:Erotic
Fangirl Moments 2007-08-12 14:44:00 Do you ever have moments that make you feel about as silly as girls you see screaming and waving outside concert venues?Yes? Well, me too.Though I'm an author, above all else, I am also a reader. And as such, I'm a fan of a lot of other mighty fine other writers. While I'm in work mode, toiling away at my computer writing or doing promotion for my own work, it's easy to forget that all the people I chat with are other authors. Its gotten to be so routine, I don't even think about it most of the time. Then something slaps me upside the head and reminds me of how much I'm truly am just another reader, prone to excited bubbles when I hear about new releases and all else. I found out one (or two really) of my favorite authors are joining one of my publishing houses. No, I'm not going to say who. I'm going to be good and keep my mouth shut. But, I had one of those silly OMG moments that I've been talking about. That second where you're all flustered and happy, thinking about the ne
Who Watched The Presidential Forum On LOGO? 2007-08-09 22:05:00 I have to say, I was rather surprised and excited to see what the candidates would have to say about same sex marriage in an environment where they knew everyone was pro marriage. I was curious to see who would backtrack their earlier comments and "amazingly" change their stance on the issue when faced with an audience of staunch supporters.I wasn't all that disappointed. Frankly, the double speak left my head spinning for a good bit of the time I watched. This is basically what I took away from the two hour debate:Obama had to be the best at talking circles around the questions he was asked, in my opinion, but he wasn't the only one doing it by far.Clinton spent most of her allotted time making excuses for things done during her husbands time in office. Both seemed to try to avoid explaining why they supported civil unions above same sex marriage, blowing it off as a matter of semantics. And, of course, the only two democratics who support same sex marriage don't have a snowballs chan

Book Recommendation: Carolyn Gray’s A Red-Tainted Silence 2007-08-08 14:45:00 I like a lot of books, and by that I mean a LOT of books. But sometimes, once in a great while, a book hits home with the impact of a tsunami and I just have to talk about it. Carolyn Gray's A Red-Tainted Silence is one of those books.I saw this book when it first came out at Loose ID, but after reading the blurb, I just wasn't sure it was for me. I have to say, I'm not normally a fan of first person point of view. It takes a damn good author to do it right, and more often than not, it's just hard for me to get into the novel like I can when something is written in third POV.Anyway, before I ramble away from my subject, I came back to this book last night while I was surfing through the list of books on the website and decided to give it a shot. I wanted a new book to read and figured at the very worst I would only be out of a few bucks if I didn't like it. I sat down about ten last night and ordered the book and a few others, then planned to read a little, before getting back to
Bit by the redecorating bug 2007-07-30 16:49:00 Lately, I've been in the mood for making changes to the house. It started with furniture a couple of weeks ago. Basically, I decided I hated mine and needed new. So I went out and looked around, and bought a sweet sectional sofa to replace the couch and chair I was sick of.Then the bathroom started looking yucky to me. I bought a new shower curtain, something white and frilly and bright, but that didn't quite do the trick. It left everything too white. I thought about it a little bit and decided it needed a theme. So what did I come up with? Sharks. Now, with the room halfway pieced together, I've found that it's impossible to find bathroom accessories in a shark motif.Anybody know of any good shops that carry a wide selection of bathroom stuff? If I can't find something decent to match, I'm going to have to scrap the whole project and start over.

Working on the Website 2007-07-25 11:22:00 I spent a good part of yesterday surfing around on the web and looking at other authors websites. What I realised was that I had no excerpts from my books listed. I don't know how I overlooked that.So after much deliberation (about ten seconds really - I'm a little impulsive that way) I upgraded my service plan and set to work creating new pages to hold said excerpts and links to each one from the bookshelf page of the site. Needless to say, I was working on that most of the day, instead of writing like I'd planned. So if anyone reading this gets a chance, pop over and see my new stuff. It's nothing huge, but lord it took a lot of work. *g* Read more:Website

Switching Gears 2007-07-20 03:15:00 I'm starting a new project, a storyline that called out to me and won't let go. Which is great, or should be. The only problem is, it's hetero. I've been in absorbed in writing M/M romance novels for going on a year now. I haven't even read a straight M/F erotic romance in all that time (that I can recall). So now I'm sitting here, getting ready to start the first intimate scene and I'm at a loss for how to do it. Kind of stupid really, that straight vanilla sex is stumping me. It's not like I'm writing about aliens with unknown, weird genitalia. I'm trying to write about what a man and woman do in bed. You wouldn't think it would be this hard.

New Book Contract! 2007-07-17 03:54:00 I'm excited to announce that I recently sold a new book to Loose ID, which is tentatively title Pyromancer. It's a M/M paranormal romance. As you can probably guess by the title, it deals with fire. Not sure precisely when yet, but I'll keep you all abreast of the latest news. *g*
Crybabies in M/M romance 2007-07-16 06:42:00 As most people know, I'm on a bit of a M/M tangent lately. Seems the only thing I can read is gay fiction these days. Anyway, I just finished a book the other day (no, I'm not going to point fingers and say which one) and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed by the overflow of gushy emotion. I'm all for men crying and showing emotion when the situation calls for it, but please, PLEASE, don't have your characters bawl like angst-ridden teenage girls every five minutes. Sure, there are men who do it in real life (I assume) but I don't want to read about it in romance. Read more:Romance

The first review on Man Candy is in!! 2007-07-01 13:40:00 Rated 5 out of 5 Nymphs!!“Man Candy is a deliciously hot romance. When these men get together you can bet the sparks are going to fly. Ms. Young pens a sexy tale of love, with hunky men and the kind of happily ever after that all romance readers love to find at the end of a story. Emotionally engaging and tension filled, you won’t be able to set it down.” -Reviewed by Water Nymph http://literarynymphsreviewsonly.blogspot.com/2007/06/man-candy.html

A Great Book 2007-06-24 14:54:00 Okay, so I don't do this often, but I have a book to recommend for those of you who read M/M romance. Most everyone I know has read Sean Michael's Jarhead series, but The Broken Road is by far his best novel yet. At least, in my opinion it is, anyway. It's sweet and poignant, and actually made me tear up in several different places. Simply put, it's a damn good book. Here's the blurb from the Torquere website:The Broken Road is the story of Ard and West, who have been friends since the second grade. They’ve been through a lot together: homework, broken bones, the death of a parent, and dreading high school dances. Through Ardie working the family farm and taking care of his siblings, and West chasing his college boy dreams, their friendship never falters, even with the gap of years and lifestyles. When the bottom falls out for West, there's only one person he thinks to call. Ardie is there for him when he does. Will these two best friends ever realize there might be more betwe
