Anyone seen my brain? 2008-02-23 12:59:00 I swear it's rattling around in my head somewhere. It seems to have skipped off into the sunset (I hope it's having a nice holiday!).If someone finds it, please send back - I'll foot the bill for global express - because I really have lots of things I should be doing with it!
I had to post this 2008-02-15 13:15:00 This is just too good not to pass on:I wish they didn't have the cops face blurred out, he must have been all shades of red!
What a week! 2008-02-10 17:07:00 Oh wow!Issue #118 of JERR just landed in my inbox today, and I tried very hard not to skip through to see if they'd reviewed Red Skirt, but I got to about G and couldn't help myself. A GOLD star review!! Hot damn, bay-be!JERR don't hand out too many gold stars, sometimes they will go months without one, other times there'll be one or two for a few issues, but seriously they're pretty rare!Go here to read the whole thing. To go with that, earlier in the week I found out Accidentally Were? was a Joyfully Reviewed Recommended Read. And on Tuesday Husbands and Wives & Lovers: Par 3 releases. A busy, busy few days!Seriously, this week started with a total punch to the gut (death of a good friend), followed by a series of highs, that on any other week would have had me higher than a kite and shouting everyone a beer. Instead, I'm going to feel quietly pleased to have done so well and be grateful for my health, success and the good friends I have to share it with, while remembering th
March 3rd sucks 2008-02-04 17:25:00 Today I found out a wonderful friend died yesterday. Some of you know of him actually - If you hunt through Tea for Three you'll find him mentioned not only in the dedication but in the story. Some days life just fucking sucks, and I want to pack it all up and move back home.
Loose Ends 2008-02-03 21:09:00 I'm running a little behind, but y'all might be interested in a new venture of mine: Loose Ends.Loose Id doesn't run a publisher blog at this point (although you Treva Harte and Margaret Reilly do Loose Change - link on the sidebar), and I thought that really was an opportunity being missed for the authors of Loose Id, so voila - Loose Ends, the official, unofficial blog of Loose Id Authors. There will be some specific topic days, but amongst those 3 days there will be authors posting on all sorts of wild and wonderful topics - make sure to pop in Wednesdays for Flash Fiction!
So I spent the afternoon with Russell Crowe 2008-01-27 10:31:00 Well...me and about twelve thousand other people apparently!I'd forgotten just how damn cold and miserable it can be going to a rugby game in the middle of winter - but yesterday brought it all back :)The South Sydney (Australia) Rabbitohs played a Rugby League exhibition game against the Leeds (as in England) Rhinos here in Jacksonville, Florida. Being Australia Day, the Aussies were out in force, but there were plenty of Black (All Blacks from NZ), Super Twelve, UK team jerseys to be found, and many Americans pretty impressed at how fast the game ran, and a bit astounded I think that the hits that were being given out -- with NO padding!I don't know about Aussie, and since it's been a long while since I got to see a game live in NZ I don't know if they've picked up the practice, but it was kind of odd to see everyone with cups of (horrendously over priced) beer in their hands at the rugby. I had to seriously doubt the organisers sanity at serving beer where there were going to b
What do you think? 2008-01-22 20:25:00 Of the ad I made myself for ecatasensual? I decided I'd put it up here as a banner for a while.Tea for Three and Accidentally Were? are also nominated in a few categories at ecatasensual - if you haven't already voted, hear my shameless begging for votes :)I've not been on the blog much of late, and it's intentional - I've found myself spending more time surfing and blogging than I have been doing my work, and something has to give. So, although I love interacting with you all on a more regular basis, I'm dropping my posts back to weekly, or maybe even a little further apart than that.On the flip side, I'm pushing myself to stick to a more productive writing schedule, and that should mean more new stories for you to read. I've started with the sequel to Accidentally Were? titled at this point Witch Vamp Were?

Tea for Three nominated... 2007-12-24 09:03:00 This time for the CAPA Awards in the contemporary erotic romance category!Tea for Three really is finishing out the year with a bang -- Eppie nominated and now CAPA, too. Merry, merry Christmas to me!
Review 2007-12-22 08:07:00 Accidentally Were? was a funny, erotic and fascinating book. It has everything that I look for in a great book-love, sex, humor, sex and adventure. Pearl (Miss Priss) and Rex (Mr. Proudly Plaid) were extremely well-written character who could easily have been my neighbors-if Weres existed. Ms. Douglas had a wonderful grasp on her craft and allowed me to suspend disbelief. Rex had planned to be a bachelor, but as soon as he and Pearl first made love, I knew that he was doomed. I strongly suggest that you have a toy or a partner when you read this book -- you will need one. I would have loved to have been there and watched them. There were secondary characters who fit into the plot and helped move it along. I could not stop reading from the moment that I started. Enjoyable does not begin to describe Accidentally Were? Ms. Douglas is one of my newest favorite authors. Relatively new, she has an amazing voice. More, please, Ms. Douglas!Overall rating:Sensuality rating: ExplicitReviewer: Ma
13 Christmas Funnies 2007-12-20 10:08:00 I know I've been a bad bad blogger, and I'm sure your all thinking I'm Ms Flakey because there's been no blog serial updates either. I'll plead burn out and the fact that my mother is here from NZ, so I've ended up in a horrid, horrid cycle of cleaning and organising. It's scary, scary stuff I tell you!So something to make you laugh...some are old, but still funny :)
Well, it's turning into quite the week... 2007-12-13 07:15:00 I just got the email telling me Tea for Three is an Eppie finalist!!How's that for an early Christmas present!!
I'm at Fictionwise! 2007-12-10 17:05:00 La de da for me! Loose Id has released Position Vacant to Fictionwise...would it be really dumb/conceited...whatever... of me to buy my own book, just so I can put in some feed back so it doesn't look all lonely?I think it might be.EDIT: All Romance eBooks too!
I'm shagged... 2007-12-09 21:15:00 It's been a hellacious week, and I've still got a ton of work to get done by Tuesday (my mother arrives from NZ Tues evening - need I say more on what needs to be done before then?). But I can say that I've managed to finally get Par 3 on paper, edited, and off to my editor at Loose Id.If I was the praying sort, here's where I'd add in a "Thank you to God!", but I'm not, so I'm afraid you just get the plain old "thank god!"We got the go ahead for the proposal on the 21st, and our editors needed ms urgently, as the first release is slated for the week of Valentines. I'd set myself a target of Dec 1st, but as you can see by the date stamp, it's the 9th -- I didn't do so well. But considering I'd hoped to have 2-3 months to write this particular story, I don't think I did too badly. Did I ever show y'all the little graphic I made to get an idea of how the titles would look? Here it is anyway:Now on to the rest of my life - which includes the last edits on Red Skirt, Cool Foun

EBook Readers...the Palm TX in particular 2007-12-05 08:41:00 I have a palm tx question, I don't know if anyone can answer it for me.I've a tungsten E (thinking of giving myself a xmas present of a T/X) and have been using adobe pdf for palm as I've always bought my books as pdf. But I was fishing around the palm site seeing what goodies there were for the tx and saw they have a separate ebook format/program. What actual format is this, and does this program read pdf's or only the ebooks from the palm bookstore? Can anyone shed some light for me?I was thinking of going to an ebookwise but I have hundred upon hundreds of pdf ebooks - no point using a machine I can't read them with, is there.

Big Bad Things - Monday Poetry Blog Serial pt 5 2007-12-03 09:25:00 Forgive me everyone for being lax, but work does take precedence over play, but I do have a new installment for you of the blog serial!Fucking Hell on earth, that’s where he was. Lewis licked his lips for the thousand and fifth time and wished his step-father dead. Well, maybe not dead, just a bad case of heartburn or the runs or something. Other than his insistence that he get more involved with all this nature, he kind of liked the guy. He treated his mother like a queen, and that had been a long time coming.Travis had loaned him a pack, then spent a couple of hours going over what he’d need, and explaining how it all worked -- Lewis figured that Travis was just getting a late start on giving out fatherly advice. It was kinda…nice, actually. Although, if the man tried to sit him down and have a discussion about the birds and the bees Travis wouldn’t see him for the dust. Now, if only he’d thought to ask Travis for more info than the ‘one of the best trail guides in the bus Read more:Blog

Between now and the end of the weekend I need to knock out at least 10k, then edit this sucker and get it to my editor.Shoot me now.

Good news to round out the week! 2007-11-23 13:20:00 I mentioned earlier that I was working on something super secret, that I had fingers and toes crossed that it was going to work out. Seems all that digit manipulation must have worked! My critique partners, Amanda Young and Michelle Cary, and I have been given the green light for a small series with the main title of Husbands and Wives, or in Amanda's case Husbands and Wives Husbands, and for me Husbands and Wives & Lovers. The series concept is based around what comes after the happy ending.I'll let you know more about it soon - the deadline for this is tight, as you should see the first story around Valentines - as we are furiously tangling our fingers into knots from typing furiously to meet our deadline :)

Big Bad Things - Monday Poetry Blog Serial 2007-11-18 22:20:00 Sorry about last week everyone. Good news is my latest WIP in rollicking along, so at least there's a good reason :)So on to number four:Decca waited in the designated parking lot for her last members of her latest tour group to arrive. She jumped down from where she sat on the back of her truck and called over the two hikers who had been keen enough they’d beaten her to their rendezvous point.“I may as well double check your packs now and save some time when the others get here.”“Sure” Don and Susan Littleman were in their early sixties and finding a new lease of life. They’d hiked with her twice last season; this year they were moving up to the more advanced trails this summer. She really didn’t think there would be anything amiss in their preparations, but they paid her to make sure and keep them as safe as she could.A vehicle pulling in behind her made her turn, and she watched a very familiar young man step out of a compact car and shyly make his way over to the gro Read more:Blog
