Here I am, sitting in a typical hotel bar. You know the ones. Non-descript curtains line the walls, trying to make patrons feel like they’re in some tropical paradise instead of the local downtown motel. They try to make us forget that tomorrow morning while we’re nursing a hangover that won’t quit, we’ve got to sit through some convention spiel.
I look around the room, taking in those beige tropical curtains and wicker chairs filled with merry drinkers. I feel a little sorry for them. Notice I said little. They have to wake up tomorrow morning to a hangover and I get to wake up to…

Push Along with Me! 2007-11-12 15:41:39 So, a deadline is fast approaching. On 12/1/07, my editor at Changeling is expecting the full manuscript for my story, Rookery Cove: Nipped. Gah! That’s like two and a half weeks away! So, join me on my push to get it done. I’ve got 3 chapters done at the moment with 7 more to go. At about 2k per chapter, that’s at least 14k more that needs to be written. Now, being the pain in the arse that I am, I’m going to have this baby written by this coming Sunday. Why? Because I’m off from work next week and I’m ready to start a new project. The thing is, I can never start a new project unless I’ve finished with the last one. *snaps fingers* Damn. Yeah, I know.
So, wish me luck! I’ll report in tomorrow and let you know if I managed my 2k today.

I’m beginning to hate… 2007-11-11 11:31:08 Google talk. Why, you ask… Because recently, I submitted a manuscript to one of my publishers. It goes straight to the acquisitions director for consideration. I got an email from her after submission stating that it would be a few weeks before she’d have an answer. No worries, right?
Wrong.
She’s on Googletalk. Like, right now. Her little button is green next to her name and I am itching to send her an IM to ask if she’s read my story yet. I do not have very good self-control and this is killing me. Ugh.
